More Canning!

My Peaches!

Apple Pie Filling

I think I can officially call myself a canning queen:) The past two days I have been working on peaches and apple pie filling. It has been quite the learning experience and very fun. We even tried the apple pie filling tonight in an apple crisp with cool whip. It was sooo yummy!! Aaron and Juliet stopped by with their son, Kingston, and helped us eat the crisp. Then the babies played for awhile after Dallas, Cody and Elijah went to bed. Kingston wanted to sit on uncle Michael's lap and Brandon got really upset so Mike put both the boys on his lap. I had to take a picture because they were having so much fun together;)

*I just heard that my good friend Maribel had baby Miah this evening so happy birthday Miah! and Congratulations Eric and Maribel:)

Busy Week

My first canning victory!

Dallas made this house and was real proud. He told me that I needed to put it on my blog:)

One last hurray before baby Miah arrives:)

Mike working on the Nova

I finally have some time to add another posting of the adventures from the week. It started out with Zumba and Mike working on restoring the Nova some more. I was also able to finish up Dallas' scrapbook and get some more pictures printed off at Costco (finally)....then on Wednesday my sister and I took the boys to the free movie up in Bonney Lake. The movie this week was Space Chimps and the boys were really excited-we had been waiting for this movie to come all summer. It was a two movie day for myself as I was able to go out with some friends, Maribel and April, and my sister in law, Juliet later that night and see The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. It was a cute movie. I also had my first experience with canning this week which was really exciting for me. My first undertaking was tomatoes and I think they turned out pretty well. Can't wait to try them out when I use them in homemade chili this winter. I am going to attempt peaches and apple pie filling this week-hopefully they will be just as easy. Last night my sister Desi and my sister in law Juliet and I traveled to Kirkland to see Mike play at the Shark Club. It was packed and really a lot of fun-by the third set though we were on the couch because our feet were killing us. Well onto another week.

I'm In!

Yesterday was an exciting day for me-I got my official acceptance into the Bachelor of General Studies Program at BYU. I had a provisional acceptance until then and had to take a special course and depending on whether I passed it or not decided whether I would be officially accepted or not. My emphasis is Business Management and I have 8 years to complete the program but I am hoping to complete it a lot sooner than that:)

Baby Shower

Last night I went to Maribels baby shower. It was so much fun and such beautiful weather. April did such a good job and had the funnest game there. Everyone got a pile of money and then answered questions about Maribel thereby earning more money. After that we got to bid on an assorted of many different themed gift baskets (the themes of the gift baskets actually were the answers to the questions). I was able to win 2 gift baskets...one was a garden themed basket with a fun sign that said, "Naughty children pull weeds", a cute pink fly swatter with a flower on it, a cute metal garden bucket, garden shovel, pkg. of green beans, a set of childrens garden tools, and a package of play bugs. The second basket I won was a love themes basket with a cute picture frame with the word Love on it, pink marshmallows, a cute princess washcloth, a love bag, and a heart shaped night light.
Anyways...Maribel got a nice variety of gifts and got some really cute things. My mom made her some nursing pads and burp cloths with a matching bib and when she opened it she was really excited. I can't wait to meet baby Mia:)

Dallas had his last coach pitch game tonight. He did so good and we are so proud of him for doing so well and improving his skills through the season. He got 2 outs tonight. He played 3rd baseman one inning and got both the outs there. After the game the coach had a pizza party for the kids which was really nice. We hurried home afterwards because we were suppose to have an appt. with the missionaries but missed them due to the pizza party-we called them up and had them come over for ice cream sundaes. Both of the Elders are being transfered tomorrow so they wanted to come and say their good byes and get some pictures. I don't know what it is about missionaries but our boys always go so nuts whenever they come over here. We warn them ahead of time too but to no avail. Oh well....

Temple Day

Today we went to the Seattle Temple to be there for my sister in law and brother in law, Aaron and Juliet, as they were sealed to each other and to their son, Kingston. It was such a beautiful day and I'm glad that we were able to be there together as a family to celebrate this important event with them. I decided to surprise them by making them a cake with a little family on the top made out of fondant. It was a fun cake and I had fun goofing around with the fondant. I think it turned out pretty cute. The kids also had fun swimming in the pool with their cousin Richie and Mike had fun riding Aaron's dirt bike and even crashing it tonight.
