Baby Whisperer

While watching Kylee this morning, Brandon wanted to hold her. I told him to sit down on the couch and I sat beside him. Kylee sat on his lap "talking" to him. After a few minutes I looked over and saw she was fast asleep. I took the picture of her sleeping on him but she sleeps with her eyes opened a bit so I don't know if you can tell. Brandon was so cute though because he was stroking her neck the whole time.

Super deals!

I was checking facebook yesterday after my workout and I came across a posting from a member of the bishopric from our old ward. He was reporting that Albertsons in Bonney Lake was going out of business and everything was 75% off. Well as soon as I saw that I hurried and showered, called Juliet to spread the word and headed up there. It was a little crazy but not really b/c of the people. I had to go back out of the store looking for a shopping cart and asked someone for theirs since I saw them unloading it. People were using empty boxes in the store to put groceries in, strollers, carts, anything they could. I was really lucky to get a good size cart that I did fill up to the brim. They still had a lot of stuff to choose from. I got everything from frozen juice, milk, nuts, canned fruits and veggies, lunch meat, cheese, condiments, etc.. The worst part was standing in line for me. I was there for over an hour waiting in line. (I always pick the worst lines) Anyways... I loaded up my table with all of my loot minus a few frozen items that needed put in the freezer immediately. My receipt before the % off was $528.00. After my discount I spent $130. I got a lot of stuff and am super excited to get my pantry soooo full.

Stuff The Bus 5K

We had a fun start to the morning today. We woke up early and drove to Dacca Park in Fife for the annual FBLA Stuff the Bus 5K. Mike, Aaron and Juliet all ran the 5k and then Dallas and Cody did the kids 1 mile fun run afterwards. Mike did really good coming in first with a time of 15:53. Aaron and Juliet came in shortly after. Of course Mike and Juliet got 1st again this year and won a free pair of running shoes from a shoe store in Tacoma. Dallas and Cody did awesome in their race too! Dallas came in first with a time of 6:58 and Cody third with a time of 8:25. It was fun watching them run in their first race:) Kingston invited Elijah and Brandon over to play at his house so we took off and went to Sportco in Fife where Mike won a $20.00 gift certificate and a free membership at the Angel of Hope 5k a few weeks back. This place was huge but really cool. Lots of hunting, camping, food storage kind of stuff. We got 2 things and only had to pay .86 cents out of pocket (oh and they let us pick out of a bin to get a free item for getting a membership so Mike picked out an umbrella) After lunch we went to the mall to get Mike some more shots that he needs to be in the sonography program. He got the tb test 2nd step, and the mmr. In a month when he goes back he will get the chicken pox and the hep. b (round 2). So much to do. I have to work tonight but am excited to watch general conference tomorrow. Happy fall everyone!

Band Geek

Well he's definitely not a geek, but Dallas is playing in the school band this year! He tried out a few instruments at school and his teacher said he had a knack for the trombone so that is what he decided to try this year. He actually does pretty good so far without any training. It will be fun to see how he progresses this year and whether he wants to continue with it after this:)

No words-

This is just for reference so I can always tell the kids that they shouldn't mess around with others when they don't want to play. It was a typcial Wednesday morning, except for the fact it was a late start at school. Brandon and Elijah were playing the wii downstairs and Dallas was pretending to be a monster. Cody thought it would be funny to grab Brandon and take him over to the monster. Well Brandon didn't like that thought at all and with his wii remote in hand, turned around and smacked Cody right in the kisser. BREAKING HIS PERMANENT FRONT TOOTH! Needless to say we heard the screaming from downstairs and when Cody ran up to tell us what happened and we saw the tooth....I'll admit it...I panicked! We were searching for the tooth frantically although we knew that probably nothing could be done anyways. I called the dentist and explained what happened and Cody was in the dentist chair about an hour later getting "fixed". Now Cody has a new fake permanent tooth that could break off again as it's only made out of the stuff that fillings are made out of. Eventually he will have to get a crown or something else but in the meantime it's a new lifestyle change. He can't eat anything that requires a hard bite from his front teeth i.e. corn on the cob, carrots, apples, celery, etc.. They have to be cut up small and eaten on the side. Exciting times!

Back in Business Again

Mike's laptop, which I use to do all my blogging, was in the shop for the past week so I've missed updating a few "fun" moments. The beginning of the month my little sister, Desi, turned 29!
On my day off, I was able to talk the boys in picking blackberries from the Coatney's bushes and then on Tuesday Tam helped me make my first batch of homemade Blackberry jam. This jam is soooo yummy. I worked hard trying to get all the seeds out and did a pretty good job I think. The jam has nutmeg, cinnamon, lemon juice and lemon zest. It's definitely different but in a good way!
Dallas, our oldest baby son, turned 11! I decided that if the boys wanted friend birthdays this year we would do it. Dallas said he wanted one so we did a sports theme and a couple friends came. They had fun playing the wii, wrestling, and playing football outside. We also played a game about who knew Dallas the best and the boys got candy for guessing right.
The next day was Sunday and Dallas' actual birthday so we of course had a family birthday party with lots of family there. I made a spaghetti dinner, requested by Dallas of course, and then we had cake and presents. Dallas had made a point of letting everyone know he wanted football or running stuff. Needless to say he was quite happy when that is exactly what he got: warm up pants, running watch, running shirts, gloves and a hat for outdoor running and a flag football kit.

My uncle Curt tagged this picture of me on facebook today and thought I would share. I can see my kids in my siblings faces...especially Brandon in my sisters-funny!
