Fun Memories-But Glad It's Over!

We sure had a nice time living without modern conveniences for a few days with the terrible snow/freezing rain we had here. Our power went off on Wednesday night around 8:45 p.m. and finally last night, Saturday, around the same time the power went back on. We sure got creative though during the days and evenings. Mike had a gig on Friday and Saturday night with Idol Eyez so he got a little warmth over the weekend...our friends also invited us over for dinner one night which made it nice for the kids. The kids enjoyed the extra days off of school as well but I think they would have enjoyed it more with a little more warmth:) I'm posting some pictures of our sledding day with the boys...the calm before the storm...and how we had to bundle up in our house during the day.

Down and Derby 2012

Dallas and Michael watched this movie getting all ready and prepped for the pinewood derby this year. Such a funny movie! Dallas did do great with his car: Cherry Sliver. He was very consistent in getting 2nd place but unfortunately since he was one of the faster cars he was raced against the other fast cars and was awarded 3rd place overall. It was a pretty neat set up they had though with a digital stop watch, concession stand, cool decorations and such. Dallas is excited to take his car to districts which we heard is probably in March sometime.
