Flu 2015

Wanted to throw some of these pictures in that I took when we had so much sickness in the house. Finally all the boys are back in school after 2 weeks. It must've been some sort of flu and it was nasty. Brandon was first, then Elijah threw up (but I think that was more headache related), Cody, Dallas and Mike. I had bad body aches like my body wanted to get something, but I have awesome genes and I was feeling just run down for a couple of days. Everyone else had stuff coming out both ends. I made sure to go through and clean every handle, doorknob, light fixture-anything that people may have touched, with lysol wipes. I also washed all the bedding, blankets, anything the kids slept on and aired out the house with the windows open. Fortunately there was some nice weather so we could do that. Besides having to clean up the obvious messes in the bathrooms b/c of accidents on rugs, splatters onto shower curtains, etc... Brandon threw up one night in the car so that was mighty fun as well. I hope that I got it all and when the weather warms up I don't smell anything unpleasant in the car.

Soccer has started

Brandon has started soccer and was feeling better to go to his game on Saturday. It had been raining really hard that morning but lucky for us, it stopped before the game. Brandon is still getting the hang of this sport; he tends to back off a bit and isn't near as aggressive as he is when he's playing football. It's fun to watch him though and does some good blocking with his body.

Birthday Pictures

We had Brandons family birthday and friend birthday party so just wanted to get some pictures up since I finally uploaded my pictures from my phone. (The candle on the cake is a bit odd-I couldn't find any singles but there were some numbers; although 7 wasn't there I put a 6 and a 1...why because 6+1=7 of course:))

Birthday boy

Today our baby turned 7.
I was talking to Mike and how it doesn't seem possible that our youngest is that old already. I still remember his birth like it was yesterday. Brandon was born in Enumclaw. I remember telling Mike that I needed to push so he checked and saw Brandons head. He ran to find the nurse who in turn has to run to find the doctor as they didn't think I'd be pushing for a few minutes. After the birth of a baby, the world seems to go in slow motion. At least for those first few moments when you look into your newborns face for the first time. I'm so lucky to have 4 wonderful children whom I love more than anything. Brandon hasn't been feeling good the past few days and even missed school. Tonight he was feeling better and wanted to go to McDonald's for dinner. He had just put his last bit of burger into his mouth when he decided to throw it all back up. Twice. The boys were laughing while I was trying to clean up vomit
and keep the boys from making a scene. Our baby. He did feel good enough to want to go visit daddy at work and see the rooms and machines he uses for his job. We will be having a friend and family party later this weekend.

Hit and Run

Just for posterity reasons...when your parent tells you something, it's usually because they know a little about the subject or they want you to be safe. Sometimes it's not because they are being mean! Case in point-last night around 10 p.m. Dallas asked if I would drive his friend home. Granted it was only about a block away but it was dark and I wanted him to be safe. The other boys and I had been watching a good movie, Shiloh, and had our pjs on but nevertheless I know I appreciate it when my son is driven home in the dark. Dallas asked if he could start the car for me so I agreed as he's done this before and I've never had any reason to think differently now. I walked outside and opened the driver side door so that Dallas could exit and I get it, which is what usually happens. Dallas had a different idea tonight. While I was telling him to get out so we could go, he starts asking if he can back it up. I said no. I have never allowed my children to drive any of our vehicles. I don't think they should until they are 15. That's my personal feeling on this subject. I told him no again and to get out and he just proceeds to put the car in reverse and slam on the gas. The car immediately starts moving backward and the force threw me on the ground resulting in slamming my head into the ground and somehow flipped me over so the bottom of the drivers door ran along the whole back side of my legs. (Today I have a huge, thick, purple/black bruise that is running from one side of my left hamstring to the top of my right can cheek) Anyways...I jumped up as soon as the door was off of me and screamed "Dallas" and started running towards him and I could see the look of sheer panic on his face as he didn't know what to do and hit the gas again. Let me say it's a good thing we have a long driveway since after that second time the gas pedal was applied he jumped out of the van. I jumped over Dallas and ran and hoped in the van and immediately slammed on the brake. I was inches from the neighbors front yard. I quickly drove the van and parked it in the driveway all the while shaking since I couldn't believe what just happened. I got out of the van and heard a PoP so I know the door is jacked up a bit. Hopefully something just needs tweaked a little. After this happened I told Dallas that he needed to walk Dane home as I found I had wet myself during this traumatic ordeal. I had dirt all over my shoulder and back and the kids were freaking out thinking we needed to call grandpa Stone. After I assured them I was fine and got myself cleaned up things settled down a bit. After Dallas got home he was really sorry, which was nice to think he actually cares a little. He did tell me when I tucked him in though last night that his friend, Dane, said he didn't know I could run so fast! Ha ha ha...that is something I NEVER hear. I'm just glad that the kids weren't hurt and no ones property was damaged. I can imagine what a mess that would've been. So the moral of the story....listen to your parents kids! Sometimes we do know things and when we say "No", just leave it alone! And as my awesome sister in law, Tammy says, "That's my two cents!".
