Amazon Picnic
So Saturday I had my Amazon work party picnic. It was pretty amazing:) Amazon rented the whole Century Link Field/Arena in Seattle and so after I finished work on Saturday morning, we headed up. We got free parking with my work badge to park in the parking garage (keep in mind there was a Mariners game the same day so it was pretty crazy down there) but when we got there and got inside they gave us tickets for t-shirts for the adults and Dallas and then toys for the younger kids. We walked straight down to the field and the Mike told the kids to pretend they were running it in for a touchdown. They didn't want to pose for a picture but it is cool knowing that we got to go and hang out there in a professional stadium even if it's the home of the Seahawks. We walked all the way to the top of the stadium where there weren't as many crowds and got some lunch. They had all the food stands open so you could go and get whatever you wanted to eat: some of the things we tried were papa johns pizza of course, bbq pulled pork sandwiches-Mike said this was his favorite, chicken teriyaki sticks and curried rice and veggies, cheeseburgers, cotton candy, kettle corn, ice cream, soda, yeah we were pigs:) hahaha I had wanted to try the Ivars fish and chips but missed those dangit:( lol
They also had lots of stations with crafts, activities for the kids, rides, etc. Some of the lines were long so we had to pick and choose carefully. The boys waited in line to ride the Gravitron. Mike was afraid he would get sick since he gets motion sickness but the boys talked him into it and he actually did okay. Elijah just barely made the height limit but by the end of the ride was screaming STOP! He'd had enough. We found a lot shorter line for the spinning cars which I went on with the rest of the boys-Mike went ahead and sat that one out:) Then we went over to the craft stations and made pinwheels and slime. Dallas and Brandon got airbrushed designs on their arms. Brandon and Elijah also made hulk masks and won posters and comic books from Radio Disney there. I wish we had gotten there earlier then we did so we could've let the kids do more fun things like the bounce houses and some of the picnic games. Maybe next year.
*On a side note, my sister and her husband Nick were working at the party. They were actually at the Pinwheel station. Nicks sister got them the job for some extra cash that day. My sister was told that they forked out about 1.6 million for the festivities that day.
Lost teeth
Well it's official, I have a big boy who lost 2 bottom teeth. Yep, Brandon is toothless. I've never had one of my boys start losing their baby teeth this early on. He's sure cute without them. This is the best picture I could get of him the night it happened.
Discovery Park In Auburn
On Wednesday night we took the kids and met up in Auburn at Discovery Park. I had heard good things about this park before but have never been there. Well today was the day! It was actually really cool. They had lots of fun playing on the cool toys there. There were even exercise types of toys but there are signs for 15+. Right up from the park is a cool water area so the kids got to go in that for a while. We celebrated Dereks birthday that night as well and met Nicks daughter Creese. She is really a cute little thing. By the end of the night Brandon was holding her hand and they were running all over the park trying to catch a squirrel. Brandon later said, "She is leading me around like a dog."
Blueberries
While my family was here I was able to take a couple of vacation days from work. One of those days we drove to Tacoma where there is a 5 acre blueberry farm, Charolette's Blueberry Farm right in the middle of Tacoma. It is a volunteer taken care of farm where people can go and pick blueberries to their hearts content. We packed a lunch and went there around noon on Tuesday. I guess the best time would be to go in the morning before it gets to hot but the boys were troopers and we picked about 28 cups of blueberries. My mom made some really good blueberry mufffns one morning and then yesterday I made a blueberry/peach crunch. Super yummy!!
