Mike had a gig this past weekend so while trying to find something to do the boys found some facial masks in my bathroom cupboard. So I thought why not??? They were really persistent in wanting them on as they thought they would be sooo beautiful once they came off;) Elijah couldn't figure out why they wanted to be beautiful though because he said "boys aren't beautiful, boys are cool."

Soccer Season

Cody had his first soccer game of the season this morning. It was sure a cold game with the fierce winds and low temperatures but we survived. Cody didn't play very much but did really good passing the ball and driving it down the field. Next week he'll miss his game as he is getting baptized but we look forward to the rest of the season. (Cody is #9 on the orange team)

My sweet husband has been working his tail off studying and trying to get good grades in his calculus class this semester. He just had a quiz on Wednesday and wasn't sure how he did (he was actually pretty nervous to get his results) but when he came home today and showed me his paper I had to post it so everyone could see for themselves!

Happy 8th Birthday Cody

We celebrated Cody's birthday one day early since I have to work on his actual birthday. It was a busy day of running around, taking kids to school, picking up kids early and taking them to dentist appointments, putting last minute touches on a birthday cake, running to the grocery store, making dinner, etc. I'm always glad when the birthday party is over because I am really tired by the end of the day. I think Cody had a really fun day and party with his family there. Cody wanted a superman birthday cake and I tried my best-didn't turn out exactly how I wanted-but he liked it so that was all that mattered. Cody got a set of scriptures which he was really excited about it, a toy gun, jammies and slippers, a bag of treats, books on cd, cars and wall stickers. I put together some little valentine baggies for the boys tonight to give to them tomorrow. The boys all have valentine parties in their classes that we had to get things prepared for and then our floor guy is finishing up our molding on the floors tomorrow. Busy day tomorrow as well. Spring is on the Way!

I was so excited to see my little daffodils coming up through the ground that I planted last spring. This is my "first" bulb planting experience so I was pretty happy to see them.

Fun Memories-But Glad It's Over!

We sure had a nice time living without modern conveniences for a few days with the terrible snow/freezing rain we had here. Our power went off on Wednesday night around 8:45 p.m. and finally last night, Saturday, around the same time the power went back on. We sure got creative though during the days and evenings. Mike had a gig on Friday and Saturday night with Idol Eyez so he got a little warmth over the weekend...our friends also invited us over for dinner one night which made it nice for the kids. The kids enjoyed the extra days off of school as well but I think they would have enjoyed it more with a little more warmth:) I'm posting some pictures of our sledding day with the boys...the calm before the storm...and how we had to bundle up in our house during the day.

My brother made this cute sign for us for Christmas and I am finally getting around to posting it. Thanks Derek!
