Graduation

Mike graduated from the Diagnostic program at Tacoma Community College on Saturday. We were super excited to see him walk across that stage and hear his name be called after these past few years of hard work. Mike has put in a lot of resumes and applications so hopefully something will pan out very shortly. We appreciate everyone's support while Mike was in school and will keep everyone informed of any job updates. When I picked up Mike's cap and gown the other day I took some pictures of building 19 where Mike spend his first year in the program.
After the graduation we went back to Mom and Dad and Tammy's house for a bbq celebration. Mike got some really nice gifts and cards with some "bread".

Baby Shower

My mom and I worked super hard together to throw a baby shower for my sister Desi. We wanted to do an owl theme and make it kind of "natury". Is that even a word? lol It was really fun though and I think it turned out really cute. She got lots of nice things for baby Haven. We all can't wait to meet her.
(Thanks for the pictures taken my my awesome sister in law Lisa above*)

Promotion Night

Brandon had his Kindergarten Promotion tonight at the school, and let me tell you he was EXCITED! When he got home from school at 4 he immediately changed into his slacks, white shirt, tie and vest. It was everything I could do to hold him off of leaving until 5:30. The kids weren't suppose to arrive until 5:45, but Brandon said we needed to get there early to get good seats; which we finally did! We only had to be 30 min. early to get 3rd row seating:) The classes sang 4 super cute numbers, got their names read and during that time they stood up and waved to the audience, and that was it. Pretty short and sweet, 30 minutes long. Brandon was sure cute! It was emotional for me as I sat there watching my youngest and last child go through a Kindergarten Promotion. It's going to be so strange next year having all the kids gone during the day. Grandpa and Grandma Stone came to watch and so did Dallas, Cody and Elijah. Michael/daddy didn't get off work until 6 p.m., since he's making up the hours that he missed when he was sick a couple weeks ago. Only 3 more days and then Michael graduates from Tacoma Community College. It's going to be a busy weekend.

14 Years

Happy Annniversary-14 years!
(we don't look any older do we?)

Volunteer Tea

I was invited to attend the Volunteer Tea for the time I was able to spend in Elijah's and Brandon's classrooms this year. It was a really nice spread with lots of goodies to enjoy. The classes came in one by one to say thank you in their own special way. Only a few kids represented the 5th and 4th grade classes. The 4th grade classes made poems for the volunteers. One boy, who I didn't know, came and handed me a stack of poems. I was looking through them and noticed I got Cody's poem! That was a fun surprise:) Then Elijah's class room came in and sang, You Are the Wind Beneath My Wings". They did hand gestures to the song which was really cute. Then Brandon's class came in and did a cheer and they handed out footballs they had drawn and colored. Brandon's teacher was also named Teacher of the Year by the PTA, so he got an award while we were there. It was pretty neat. *on a side note, Br. Boynton, the school principle was telling some staffing changes while we were waiting for the next classes to come in and he mentioned that starting next year, all kindergartners will be going full time. This year you had to pay $250/month if your child was in full day-wow!

Spring Concert

Dallas had his last band concert for the year. The 6th grade band played 2 songs. Grandma Stone came to watch with us. Mike is working 10 hour days to make up for what he missed last week. Looks like he will be missing Brandons kindergarten promotion next week too.
*You have to look carefully as he is in the last row and he's one of the shortest players

He's a Trooper

Mike was super sick for a whole week and missed 4 days of work/school because of it. He had temps of up to 103. Mike still felt like hud but went and performed with Idol Eyez up at the Quil Ceda Casino. It's up by the Tulalip Casino in Marysville-really far up there. He managed to get through pretty good. I had fun dancing with Michael Hards wife, Joni. It was really the saddest gig I had been to I think. No one was dancing. It was fun to be there and hang out with Mike while the kids had a sleepover at the Wilson/Hamblins again. The boys love going up there and jumping on their trampoline. Unfortunately, Richie sprained his ankle really bad while the boys were there, by rolling it on a basketball that was on the trampoline. Richie told me later that while he was laying there in pain, Brandon was moving his ankle all around to check to see if he was bleeding. Poor Richie was too nice to tell him to stop. I drove home after the gig so Mike could sleep on the way home. He's feeling much better now.
